年長の英語：４月２３日

This week we drew our faces on our folders! They look absolutely wonderful! Students could practice the vocabulary for parts of their face, as well are go over some phrases for doing classroom activities (‘Can I start? And ‘I’m finished.’) Students were quite able to pick up the sound at the end of the word ‘finished’ .. which sounds a bit like a ’t’. You can practice together:

Also, we practiced singing a new song. While some of the words might seem a little easy, the most important thing that we can do in kindergarten is: repetition, repetition, repetition.

Also, we practiced the letter ‘a’ … which, in American English, sounds a little different than the sound for あ in Japanese. Here are the phonics letters we have studied.

Next week, we will celebrate Showa day on Thursday, so we won’t have a chance to have an English lesson. In the meantime, please enjoy practicing the English songs at home, and, if you are adventurous, practice the alphabet using this game on Sesame Street’s website:

今週の年長のレッスンでは、自分のフォルダーに顔を描きました。本当にみんなが上手に、自分らしく描けていたと思います。その上、こどもたちがよく顔の部分の復習もでき、Classroom English の表現も練習できました（始める前に ‘Can I start?’ と、終わったときに ‘I’m finished.’ … finished という言葉が最後に ’t’ みたいな音を発する子もたくさんいました。こちらのビデオで見てください。

そして、新しい歌も歌いました。自分の気持ちの表現がいっぱい出てきて、体の動作も入っていました。新しい英語の言葉はそこまで出ていないですが、幼稚園の英語では繰り返しを大事にしています♪

今週の新しいフォニックス の音は「a」でした。アメリカの英語では、「a」という文字の音は「ア」とちょっと異なりますが、こどもたちの耳にとても自然に入りました。一緒に勉強した文字と音はこちらで見れます↓
